The Zoo Changes - Part 3

Catch up on the story! Read Part 1, and Part 2 of The Zoo Changes.

I yelled at Little A for leaving Snowy outside alone while he came in for something, and being the wonderful child that he is, he went outside to immediately get her. He brought her inside, and I told him that if he wasn't going to play with her to put her away. I told him to just put her on the table like always (she climbs into her cage when she wants to go in). And then he ran back outside to play. A few minutes later, I hear him screaming outside, and run out to find out what happened. He had fallen off the swing and hurt himself, so I sat outside with him and comforted him. J-Man went inside to get a drink, and we hear him scream from inside, "Snowy is getting eaten!" What horrible words... we ran inside to see the new kitten pick up Snowy in it's mouth and run off. I caught up, and gave it a gentle smack and said,"No!" Then I picked up Snowy off the floor...she didn't have any marks on her that I could see... but she wasn't moving. Nonetheless, I held her in my hands hoping that she was just scared still, and sat with her. But, alas, Snowy did not move again. Little A was mortified and was screaming at the top of his lungs how much he hated the kitten, and he wanted to kill the kitten for killing his Snowy. We used EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) to get him calmed down. Then he took Snowy and carried her around for the next 5 hours or so. He didn't want to put her down, his little snowy, his precious dwarf hamster. Why do these types of things always happen at closing time? It happened 15 minutes before the PetSmart closed, and there was no way to get there in that amount of time. I promised him that first thing the next morning I would drive him all over the valley to find the perfect little white hamster.

Perhaps it was synchronicity that PetSmart closed in 15 minutes, and we couldn't get there in that amount of time. Perhaps the energy of the universe conspired to lead us to something to bring us joy...

Come back tomorrow for Part 4 of The Zoo Changes!
